Hi everyone!

I have only recently been diagnosed with endometriosis and am still new to the condition. I started having painful periods at the age of 11 and was always in and out of hospital due to abdominal pains. 10 years and 3 laparoscopies later at the age of 21, I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis as they found multiple chocolate cysts on my ovaries. I was told that they had removed the tissue however I am still experiencing my endo flare ups! Paracetamol and ibuprofen never eased the pains. I’m just wondering, what’s your go to relief for flare ups? I haven’t found anything that works yet!

Hi Katie, I use mefenemic acid and It helps me a lot. Paracetamol and ibuprofen didn’t work for me either, hope this helps :)

Wheat bags or sometimes cold packs can work, cold initially reduces inflammation, even though I know this, my go to is heat for comfort.

Speak to your GP about stronger painkillers if need be. If you want to avoid opiates there is. Nefopam. Magnesium spray can help me sometimes as well.
