I'm wondering if anyone has ever experienced having a very high heart rate with Endo.
My resting heart rate averages at 90bpm.
As soon as I stand up it rockets up to 130 - 140. I get lightheaded and have collapsed on a few occasions.
My doctor keeps insisting that this is normal and the collapsing is due to my endo. I am unsure of this so just wondered if anyone has any experience of something similar? Thank you ☺️

Hello! I'm no way a doctor so take what i say with a pinch of salt have you been tested for low iron/ low ferratin? Due to heavy bleeding ive had this in past and made me feel them symptoms.
Also have you been checked for Pots? I believe this can make you dizzy and collapse if you stand up too quickly. I hope you find the answers you need take my suggestions in a light hearted way as im no professional😊 good luck and please be careful around steps/stairs🌸
Sorry to hear you are having this problem right now. I had this frequently (amongst many others) where I would be out and about shopping, everything would turn white, and wham! It would feel like a panic attack before happening. However, that said, as Nicjane has suggested having your bloods tested for low iron could be a start. And again, POTS too (Postural Orthostatic Hypertension) can have the same effect on your body.
If it is any consolation, once my endometriosis was removed ( hysterectomy) those symptoms disappeared along with it. So, for me I do believe endo’ was the cause of my similar symptoms. I am not saying this is definitely the cause for yours but it could well be. We all present slightly differently and not everyone’s body behaves in the same way.
If you feel unsure ( as it is disconcerting and unpleasant ) a revisit to continue to voice your concerns and perhaps a new set of bloods wouldn’t be a bad idea.
Apologies in advance if you have had this done recently.
Hi, MinnskimooI have endo as well. And i feel very nervous all the time, i have high anxiety, high pulse, panic attacks. I cannot manage my life anymore. . Can this be because if endo? Please help.
Sorry to hear of your distress 😌As an aside, have you had any blood tests recently- mb tests for thyroid?
I would go back to your GP . My problems were blamed on anxiety constantly but my hormones were all over the place … worth a visit .
Don’t give up , I was 7 years backwards and forwards to GP, each time usually told depression, anxiety , stress, early menopause (I was 33 at the beginning of my endo journey). I knew it was the endo causing my many symptoms.
I went to the GP 15 times in 3 months. He keeps on telling me that i have anxiety. Because he cannot find anything in the blood. He says my hormones levels are ok, and thyroid is ok. But … i am feeling very ill. High heart beat. Shortness of breath. I have tremor in my legs when i think why my problem is not solved. I hear that there us no really evident blood test to show if we are at perimenopause. …
This hadn’t occurred to me at all. Last year mine went up, after symptoms started occurring. I put this down to symptoms of sleep apnoea, when I started CPAP it went down. This year it’s gone up again (pain worse) and back on tabs. After lap it went up, the nurse said it normally goes down.
I’d agree with getting a blood test, ask them to include Vit D, B12 and magnesium.
Thank you for mentioning it. Hope your endo is under control.
Hey, I have this too and have been in hospital many times for tachycardia. The A&E consultant told me that it can be the heart’s response to pain and stress on the body from endo.
As someone who has been anaemic most of her life I would say all the other women are pretty spot on. I have had a few bad episodes where I feel like I’m about to faint for hours but never actually do and it was really weird for me as I’m not a fainter - in that ive never fainted before. Turned out during those episodes my iron level was as low as 3 (should be no less than 13). In those instance I’d never have my heart rate or blood pressure checked though.
The times I did were when I ended up in a&e and unlike your gp those stats did worry the doctors there and it was always due to dehydration - it’s weird but I think a few endo women suffer from it regularly - especially as I have bowel symptoms and the iron issue and it can be exasperated by whatever treatment I’m on (normally a combined contraceptive pill and pain killers). I can’t say for sure obviously but definitely get the blood test if you can and I try over the counter electrolyte replacement if I’m ever feeling particularly dehydrated x
Thank you everyone for your advice! It has been so interesting reading all of your comments and I feel much better knowing it is not just me who experiences this. I will be making an appointment next week with my doctor now to get my levels checked and if they are all normal I can then start asking about things like POTS. Thank you again ladies and I hope you are all as well as you can be ☺️X
I was literally on the phone to my GP a couple days ago because I took a funny turn at work.. had an awful headache, pelvic pains, back ache, dizziness and nausea - the usual endo symptoms. Had my blood pressure taken by the nurse at work and she was concerned about the diastolic number and my heart rate being too high. She explained its showing that my heart was trying too hard to compensate for something. Well, the GP completely disregarded it and said he would only be worried if those numbers were constant for months on end. I dont know about you guys but how often do you get you're blood pressure and heart rate checked? I sure dont make a habit of it so how would I know if it was always high.
Always feel like second and third and fourth opinions are needed! Never taken serious, it's horrible living with these symptoms for the good part of everyday xx
If I were you perhaps ask for another bp check with the practice nurse again or health care assistant. Especially as you are experiencing new symptoms. If it is still showing a discrepancy see another Gp and get a second opinion. Although not the same, I recently had blood results returned one above range, one below but filed as ‘normal’ - for me not normal. Rang the surgery and requested a chat with GP. On holiday so calling me next week. I need reassurance and so do you for peace of mind! I will be wanting another test to check this is a one off! We know our bodies- don’t give up.
I hope you get sorted. It took me seven years for someone to believe I wasn’t functioning on all cylinders. I saw an array of medics wanting to write me off as having a health anxiety disorder until I relented and went private - was whipped into hospital within a week for a complete hysterectomy due to stage 1V Endo.
It is horrid.. I feel for everyone dealing with this peculiar, debilitating condition.
I wish you all the best for the phone call with the GP, you definitely need that peace of mind! Surely there cant be that much of a range for blood results and still be classed as normal.
Yea you're right, we know our bodies aren't well. I've actually just booked for a private consultation in a couple of weeks so will hopefully find out what's going on soon.
Thank you for your advice, best of luck to you 🤞 x
Hi, Minnskimmo. I have endometriosis also, and i have anxiety that is getting worse every day. My heart is racing for the last 3 months, i am not myself anymore. I feel very nervous, cannot control myself. The GP says this cannot be from endo. I feel i am going crazy.
They normally ask for a weeks readings, taken morning and evening. They take an average. I did this back in May and the nurse said do another week September. I’m doing this at the moment. Not sure if they still want it.
At the time she started lecturing me about not eating salt, I had to point out that this wouldn’t be an issue as I wasn’t eating much because of other issues. Don’t let them make any assumptions. 🙄
Yes i'm very conscious of it which makes it worse! Everytime i get my heart rate done it shoots up and i'm sitting there with the nurse waiting for it to go down, really annoying, bp's usually fine.
I've never fainted, had a few dizzy spells but i'm convinced its related to the endo or for me i'm sure its something to do with when i was on the prostap injection, few years ago now, but its never been the same, i might be wrong.
Ive never had any tests done, probably should. I try and do deep breathing which sometimes works or slows it down.
Hello!Yes, i have the same. High pulse, hupertension , tremor. It is frightening. I have to wait months and months till a doctor is available to operate me. I am desperate.
