MRI Scan

Hi all,

Just had my appointment date for my MRI scan and wondered how long the MRI would last? I really didn’t like the last one and wondered if I would need to take something to calm me for this one.

Should add, my last MRI was not for Endometriosis.

I think mine was about twenty minutes, I didn’t go all the way in to the machine and just kept my eyes shut the whole time and concentrated on the music.

I believe mine took somewhere around 45min-1hr. I had a known complex cyst, so not sure if that required additional images. Good luck to you!!

Mine was about 40 minutes from memory, not the nicest experience, but I managed to almost fall asleep I was focused so much on not being there.

Hi there

Mri scan waiting timers varies depending on your local trust waiting times . There are options for a scanner which has less claustrophobia and is a widebore . Some hi spec scanners can allow scans to be done in very less time . What are you having done , and what are your main worries for the scan ?

It is completely safe , no radiation open on both sides . They can give you music most of the time and a buzzer to press if you get to panicky
