Hi, so recently went for a transvaginal scan and found I have a 18mm cyst on my right ovary, and a smaller one on my left ovary. We have been ttc for the last 15 months without success so decide to get going with IVF, and I was diagnosed with stage 3/4 endo in 2017. I have been referred to see a specialist for the cyst and also next steps for IVF. Just wondering what people think would be the best next steps to take, I think my GP mentioned that they might want to see if surgery is needed for the sizeable cyst, or anyone been in the same boat? (Have cysts and still went for IVF?) I’m not sure what the success rates are, and whether it’s best to operate first before proceeding with IVF?

I hope it helps!
Hi, my advice is to not go for the surgery if you can avoid it. A layer of the ovary has to be removed in order to get the cysts removed. This layer will contain your best follicles for ttc.
Thanks for your reply dear. It’s actually 11cm endometrioma they found and not originally 18mm as I mistaken. Doc now said that’s too big and no IVF will want to take me unless I get rid of the cyst first.
