Please can someone tell me how I get to see an endo specialist? I'm in and out of hospital and all I get is pain relief and sent home π

No help π
Hi, I'm currently waiting to be hopefully referred to endo specialist. Both my GP and doctor from pain clinic said that the only thing that they can do is to write to my gyno to say that I would benefit from being referred to endo specialist due to endo growing back and my continuous pain despite ops and treatment.
I would definitely suggest to contact your GP and ask if they can write to your gyno who hopefully would consider referral to specialist. It's all frustrating, sometimes I felt like I was banging my head in a brick wall, going from one GP to another with a hope that they would listen. And if you are in and out of the hospital they need to do something about it to help you.
Hi Watedaha,
I'm not sure if you have a diagnosis or not, but I have linked the endoUK information sheet on getting diagnosed, here you can find some information on seeking a referral if you are not satisfied with your care, I hope you find this useful. BSGE have specialist gynaecology centres across the UK, I have also linked their website for more information.

I was just about to comment the exact same thing, so won't double up on this. I highly recommend this too, it's what I did after I was not happy with the NHS surgeon I was referred to (she made me cry she was really harsh with me. If that happens to you, don't feel you have to put up with the first person you get!) Good luck and remember you're not alone xx
I had a fight on my hands to get referred to my local endo centre. My GP I saw 3 times in space of a fortnight. Even though Iβve been diagnosed with endo years ago I still didnβt get an appt with specialist. One clueless GP gave me antibiotics and gave me a vaginal swab for my swelling π when the gynaecologist letter came it was a gynae who specialises in smears etc nothing to do with endo! I was so upset, I rang my nearest Spire and saw the endo specialist that night. She cost Β£150 to see and itβs the best Β£150 I ever spent! I was fast tracked my op on NHS and had an endo nurse at end of phone. I had my first lap 6 months later. Iβm now forever on their books and feel much more supported than GP gave me. Good luck π€π€ xx
I would insist to be referred immediately or pay to go private xxx
