**just as a note beforehand: I have never been diagnosed with endo, I have mentioned it to multiple health professionals but they don’t think I suffer**
I have been to the doctor about on and off pelvic pain for nearly two years, I had every test under the sun including an ultrasound when it first started and nothing came up out of the ordinary.
However I was given another ultrasound as the pain was not going away (it’s not every day, it’s not even always every month, it seems very random). The gynaecologist found a cyst during the last ultrasound and said it was a ‘simple’ cyst. She told me not to worry and that they’re very common and many women get them. She asked me to go back in 6 weeks time to make sure it goes on it’s own.
Will these kind of cysts effect my fertility? I know the nurse said not to worry but I suffer with horrible heath anxiety and cannot help but panic😔
I was also wondering if my contraceptive implant could have caused this? I don’t recall ever having and issues before I got it put in?

Hi I am not sure if I will be much help. I had 4cm cyst on my right ovary on the second ultrasound I did and it didn’t appear on the MRI scan. I had a lap done last July and they found a cyst on my right ovary and took it out for analysis. I was told that it was normal. I was in pain after the operation and I had steroid injections into the genitofemoral nerve. That was in September.
Then in January I had to go to A&E as I was intense pain I can’t describe it but I couldn’t walk. They gave me naproxen to take. 2/3 weeks later I’m back in A&E and they gave me stronger pain killers, did blood test and x Ray and the results came back normal. At this point I couldn’t walk without limping for about 2 months. So they gave me crutches because my left leg is agony my left hip, knees hurt when I walk. I had to stop going to the gym because walking to the corner shop without crutches is difficult. Anyhow I had a MRI scan last month and they found a cyst again on the right ovary this time 5.2cm. I have been referred to the gynaecology endometriosis unit and I’m waiting for an appointment with the doctor. But you know what NHS waiting times are like.
I spoke to a family friend who is a neurologist and he reckons that this cyst is pressing down on my nerves which is why I can’t walk and have to use crutches.
I had a fertility test done in South Korea and they said everything is normal. I can have kids safely until age of 32 where it might be harder. I was 26 when I had the test done and I’m now 27.
The only thing I would say is that you have to hound the doctors. Keep going to them because they will get pissed off and refer you. I have been in pain for 9 years. It took 6 years for the GP to actually listen to me so don’t give up. I know it’s crap ruins your life and affects everything you enjoy in life but do not give up
Oh god I am so sorry you have had to go through all of this! Hopefully they can sort something out for you.
For me the pain isn’t getting worse or more frequent, it’s just not going away which is why I initially went to the doctors.
The pain its self isn’t excruciating it’s a dull ache almost as if I’ve done too much work in the gym.
Luckily the doctors aren’t dismissing me, i’m going back in six weeks so they can monitor it. She didn’t tell me the size of it though.
I will take your advice and hound the doctors, it’s also reassuring to know that your fertility hasn’t necessarily been affected; that feels me with a bit of comfort.
Thank you again for your advice, it’s really helped. I hope you get the help you need because what you describe to me sounds horrific and no one deserves to go through that♥️
