Hello lady warriors

Just a question to see if this has happened to anyone else. I started my Depo injection in January and have not had a period since, until two days ago I started bleeding out of no where😔 The bleeding isn’t heavy but the pain is becoming worse🥺

Can anyone help please? X

If you had your last one in January, wouldn't your next one be due soon? Mine ran out 2 weeks early last time and it was a right nightmare 🙄 I stopped taking it after this as it wasn't working for me anyway (it made my endo pain worse) and I went on the combined pill.

I dont know if you would have difficulty with getting another depo shot given the current situation, but maybe your doctor could prescribe a progesterone only pill (they both have the same hormone after all) and your pharmacy could deliver it to you? I mean, it's only a suggestion but if you can't see a doctor, it's better than nothing I guess.

Hope you find something soon 💕

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

My next Depo is due on 22nd April, I will phone my GP and see what they suggest. This Injection hasn’t really helped for me either.

Fingers crossed I will get sorted because these pains are horrendous.

Hi, sorry to hear you are in pain. I think it can take a while for your body to adjust to depo and also maybe it is wearing off? Everyone’s body is different but Depo has been a life saver for me, hardly any bleeding plus minimal pain. I have been on it for nearly 20 years though with the occasional break so my body is used to it. If you do decide you want to stay on it but the Gp are refusing to give you the injection at the moment then you could try the Sayana press which is supposed to be very similar to depo but you can self administer. I realise you might want to try something different though. Good luck with it xx

Thank you so much for your response.

I have decided to not have my next DEPO and have a talk to my GP for an alternative.

I’m glad you found what works for you, Fingers crossed I will get there.

Xx
