Ascites with Endometriosis

Hi everyone. I just joined this group. Mine is a crazy case. I have endometriosis with ascites(fluid in the stomach). My doctors think this is rare and cannot say why I have this fluid building up in my tummy. I had lap 4days ago and they couldnt find a reason for the fluid. I've been on Zoladex for about 7months. But I really want to try for a baby but my fear is that if I stop the Zoladex, the fluid will ruin my chances of conceiving.

Any advice? Or Is there someone else with a similar case?

You can’t try for a baby on zoldex lovely could you try ask your specialist on recommendation for trying for a baby they must have an idea what it is

Hello 😊

Is the fluid actually related to your reproductive system? I ask because if it’s still there after 7 months of Zoladex it sounds like you’re looking at two different problems here.

Do you have more fluid when you’re not on Zoladex? And do the doctors know what ‘kind’ of fluid it is?

Why did they put you on Zoladex in the first place?

This is a lot of questions to fire at you! I don’t mean to be rude or nosy, just trying to get a general picture 😊

Hi. Thanks for responding. The fluid seems to be caused by the endo. The doctors are not entirely sure about it because it is rare and they have not had a lot of cases about it to be well experienced. But I have done extensive tests, scans and MRI. All results have shown my heart, liver, kidney are all fine. The fluid was drained and tested and it was said to be endometrial.

The fluid accumulated faster when I was off Zoladex. And aside the fluid I had all symptoms of endometriosis

Well, I’m not a doctor, but it does seem as if it’s all related.

As you probably know, everybody’s endo is different. I was diagnosed at stage 4 and felt as if the world had ended, but I managed to fall pregnant by myself (well, with some help from my husband! 😜) after laps to ‘clean me up’. Now that the fluid has been drained, it may give you a window of time where you can try for a baby before it comes back again. Though as Afrohair says, you absolutely must not try to conceive with Zoladex in your system.

Are you being seen by a ‘regular’ consultant? If so, it might be an idea to seek out a centre of excellence for endometriosis where they are more likely to have seen your particular condition.

I hope this helps a bit! 😊
