Hi. I'm new here and mostly just read so apologies if this makes no sense! I've had my second decapeptyl injection and I'm struggling. I've felt dizzy, sick, headaches and high blood pressure. My GP was rubbish the other day and I'm struggling to get in with the consultant gynaecologist. I was wondering if anyone has had high blood pressure because of the injection and what the best thing is I should do. Thanks xxxx

Decapeptyl and high blood pressure
Hello,
Blood pressure changes are listed by Decapeptyl’s manufacturer as side effects of treatment that should be investigated and monitored by both your GP in conjunction with your prescribing specialist asap.
You could try showing your GP a copy of Decapeptyl’s “Summary of Product Characteristics” - it’s a more detailed version of the Patient Information Leaflet for medical professionals as well as patients and may help you to get them to take your concerns more seriously as it states that blood pressure changes should be investigated. You can find a copy online here:
medicines.org.uk/emc/produc...
It is also useful to know that drug manufacturers employ pharmaceutical advisors who GPs and other medical professionals (sadly not patients) can call and seek more detailed advice about drug treatments, their potential side effects, and how to manage or monitor them. Decapeptyl is manufactured by Ipsen and if your GP feels they need more information before they can advise you then they can ring:
Ipsen’a Medical Information Direct Line
+44 (0)1753 627 777
Please do persevere in trying to report your new high blood pressure symptoms to your GP and prescribing specialist - it is their job to monitor and manage your treatment and any side effects you might develop so that you get the best possible result from undergoing it.
Best of luck & hope you feel better soon, x X x
