Fingers crossed for my 4th time lucky lap to treat endo which hasn’t been successfully treated since 2016.
I’m hoping now with a new specialist he can boss this. Just to share a few things I’ve learnt along the way, things I wish I had of known sooner rather than later:
- specialist is key BSGE are the magic letters being seen at one of these means your more likely to have better care with a regulated consultant
- Know your rights with employers, I’ve found citizens advise pretty good for free advice. (if you’ve been employed for fewer than 2 years you have a lot less rights with employment laws!)
- ensure your consultant works with you: they should discuss fertility plans, pain management options and allow you to ask questions and consider your ideal treatment options (I had a previous one who told me I had no choice in my treatment plan as they knew what was best for me)
- reach out to people who are going through similar experiences. They often come up with tips about things you may never had considered before. Ask questions nothing is too silly!
- some testing may show conflicting informations or miss endo completely. (I had an MRI which showed a different picture from my post lap report)
- stay strong listen to your body, at times it’s okay to feel weak, use loved ones to give you that extra strength.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s outcome.... thanks to this endo community for your support, this forum really has helped me through!
