It would seem I was misled.. (misdiagnosis story/my situation now)

Hello everyone,

So I had a third transvaginal scan yesterday by a endometriosis ultrasound specialist (I'll not mention names on this post but pm me if you want details) and it would seem that my first diagnosis was a pile of wank.

I was previously informed that my left ovary had stuck itself to my womb due to endo adhesions (was done by a general gynaecologist). This was found yesterday to be false. My left ovary is naturally higher than my right one and is as free as a bird (or mobile is probably the preferred medical term). No deep endo adhesions could be seen anywhere else on my womb, ovaries, bladder, kidneys, pouch of Douglas, ureters, urethra or any other reproductive organs I forgot to mention. Adenomyosis was also not found either and therefore ruled out.

I was found to have a lot of follicles/polyps on my ovaries and was diagnosed to have 'polycystic ovarian morphology' (not the same thing as pcos).

My surgeon has still offered me a laparoscopy (which I hope to be soon) as he suspects it may be a case of mild endo rather than a severe case.

I am SUPER relieved about this, and I have to say that I was expecting the worse. And I must say if you are reading this and you have severe endo, I salute you as if this is the pain with a 'mild' case, I cannot imagine what it must be like for anyone with a more severe case 💕

Moral of the story? ALWAYS seek a second opinion - preferably with an endometriosis specialist.
