Cystic acne

Hi I am waiting for diagnostic lap but gynaecologist is pretty certain it is endometriosis from other test results and symptoms. Does anyone else get really bad acne which turn into like boils/ cysts under the skin around the chin and jaw line? I’m almost 28 and I’m struggling with this so much. Someone help!!

I have always wondered if endo is linked with acne. I dont have cyst like spots but am 33 and have always suffered with acne but have only been diagnosed a year ago with endo. I have tried taking zinc with copper from Holland and barrett and it has significantly helped. They are basically hair skin and nail tablets. Have you asked your GP to try you on antibiotics or be referred to a dermatologist x

Yes!! I never used to get spots even when I was a teenager and recently (age 28) have been getting these big boil type spots that are really painful, around the same time that my other systems have been getting worse! Don’t know if it’s actually linked tho. I use sudocream, helps a bit.

Thanks for your reply! It’s so frustrating. Mine seems to flare up even more when my other symptoms do too. Do you find yours are in the same areas?

It’s just so frustrating. Even though you don’t want to have Endo you do want them to find it so you have your answers xx

I get exactly the same thing! I was diagnosed via laparoscopy last year. I’m a skincare specialist so I know it’s not the products I’m using or my diet... they’re not normal spots they’re all around my face rather than on it. So frustrating and they seem to never go!! X

I am exactly the same. I get horrendous, large boil like cystic spots on my jaw and they are so prominent and so darn painful! Nothing keeps them under control and I’m 25!

It’s so frustrating isn’t it they are so sore but they just don’t ever seem to go away! How were you diagnosed did you have the lap? X

It really is :(! I’d been waiting to have a lap for ages but I didn’t have an appointment scheduled, it’s because I had a ruptured appendix that they went in and found mild endo xx

Hope your recovering quick! They said to me that because I have had my appendix out too that they might find there are adhesions which will be making the Endo pains worse too xx

Yep I get awful cystic acne at the sides of my mouth which has only gotten worse since I was diagnosed with endo. The progesterone pill made it especially bad, but the Mirena coil isn't really helping now either! I've been on lymecycline antibiotics for 6 months which helped a bit, but I've been told I need to have a break and so I've been given a cream called epiduo. I've only been using it for 2 weeks and it doesn't appear to be stopping the acne but they do appear to be clearing up quicker.

I’m going to my gp this week to see if they can do something for it! I am currently on the implant contraceptive but don’t know hat my best option is so I’m going to discuss that with my go this week too xx
