Does anyone know if, when getting a referral to a specialist centre, you can choose which one you’re referred to? Or does it have to be your closest one? I’ve already been seen at and discharged from my closest one and I don’t really want to go back there. For other health issues I’ve had dealt with on the NHS, I’ve been able to choose the specialist centre I can be seen at, and I was wondering if it would be the same for endometriosis?
Thanks 😊

Yes if in England then the NHS Constitution gives you the choice but be aware it is a choice of centre not surgeon. So unless they have just one surgeon you might be seen by any of them. We have found that some have closed their doors to out of area referrals though due to demand. Oxford had done so the last time we enquired. Presumably you fulfill the referral criteria to be seen at a centre.
