Hi I am starting a 6 month course of Zoladex tomorrow and wanted to check if anybody else had had this and are the side effects as horrific as they sound ?
Zoladex: Hi I am starting a 6 month course... - Endometriosis UK
Zoladex
Hi, my experience with Zoladex was positive overall. I'd read lots about it so was very reluctant to have it! Are you having HRT add back? I was given Tibalone at the same time which meant I didn't have all the menopause symptoms. I felt a bit achy sometimes but that was it. And the injections were fine. One thing I wasn't warned about was that my hormones surged after the first injection and I had a bad period - as I wasn't expecting this I panicked, but I've since read that this is normal. After that I was period free which really felt like getting my life back - I was getting terrible bladder pain and frequency on top of all the other pain, and this all stopped. It was good to know that everything I was experiencing was down to my endometriosis. I hope your experience is positive too.
I had zoladex twice, the first without HRT, the second at the point where my endo had got to a really bad stage and I needed a hysterectomy. The first time I had no side effects and I had never felt better other than times I'd been on the pill.
The second time I was also on tibolone and seriously ill with the endo. I started feeling better with a couple of days but still not fine. I only had one dose before my hysterectomy, I later found the tibolone was making ill so it is hard to say if the zoladex was causing me any problems.
Hi I’ve been on zoladex since October overall I feel fab. The only negatives are my blood pressure is now high so I’m on tablets for that. I have muscle stiffness and mild hot flushes but the fatigue I felt before has gone which was what I struggled with the most xx
