Hysterectomy all done!

Hi my hysterectomy is complete and it was the best outcome I could have wished for. . Everything gone no endo left, and didn't need a bag. Surgeon thinks i wont need any more surgery. I'm so happy!! I'm in a lot of pain at the moment, a lot worse than before but I know it will go in time.

Thank you for all your support. If you have any questions I will try my best to answer x

Glad you feel better after your surgery and wish you a speedy recovery.

I have adenomyosis and endometriosis and bleeding constantly. Tired everything. Next thing is either ablation or hysterectomy.

I worry that it changes me as a woman though, such as an empty feeling, weight gain, moody. Did you have any of these concerns?

They probably sound silly but it’s such a big decision x

Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery 💚

I would love to hear about your pain progress as you heal - if you feel up to sharing of course x

Hi, yes of course. I didn't have a good night last night, I have to be honest the pain is bad but it's an expected pain and i know i am healing so it makes me feel better if that makes sense.

Only my 2nd day today, not much better at the moment but hopefully today i will go home and rest up properly and get some good sleep. I will post again in a couple of days with an update. X

Hi I just wanted to say I felt exactly the same as you did I stayed in hospital for 6 days after my surgery and lay in bed thinking what have I done! But I’m 3 weeks post op now and even though I have had a UTI ever since the op from the catheter I have no pain at all. So hang in there it will get better - I found the first two weeks were the hardest but then I turned a corner. My biggest piece of advice is don’t do too much too soon we all have only one time to heal and I did too much too soon like an idiot as I was feeling good and decided to strip my bedding and I started bleeding, so be careful as you will have days where you think oh I’m fine and I totally forgot about all the healing going on inside. I hope you start to feel better soon and are receiving the right pain medication you need. Big hugs x

Thank you for your advice, I do seem stronger today and I was considering getting in the bath and stuff but I've changed my mind ha I will get a full body wash and stay in bed. I didn't have a catheter but my bladder does feel funny. They checked everything before I left so all must be fine. Glad you're on the mend x x
