After having been diagnosed lat year with endo I had a laparotomy in August of this year to remove very large cysts from my ovaries and unfortunately due to the damage the endo had caused I had to have both my tubes removed.
Since my surgery in August I have felt better than ever. I have normal bleeds, yes I still am in pain but at least it is only a few days to the pain I was feeling everyday. My only issue is I wake up every morning in pain. Then I start going about my business and it subsides. Which again I thought was bearable. I was under no illusion I would be perfectly healthy after surgery.
Yesterday I went to my first tests for fertility treatment. This involved bloods and a baseline scan.
My baseline scan has showed I have a large cyst once again on my left ovary. The nurse was shocked to say the least and had to get her manager to come in and have a look as well. I will be unable to progress in my fertility treatment until they know more and it is dealt with.
I know endo can grow back and I knew due to the extent of mine that it would. But I had no idea it would grow back this much in 2 months and if this is the case how am I going to be able to have treatment if it grows this fast.
I am extremely deflated and gutted that even after having open surgery, I am going to have to be treated again.
Has anyone else been through this or a similar situation. I really didn't think I would be back on here so soon reposting 😢

A laparotomy for cysts??? Even 16-cm/10-cm cysts can be removed via laparoscopy. Clearly whoever performed the surgery was not an excision surgeon at all. It's sad because maybe the tubes could have been saved had the surgery been performed by a specialist.
I suggest you immediately contact a highly experienced and skilled excision surgeon and discuss the possibility of surgery or what to do next. This is much better than undergoing fertility treatment with a massive cyst on the ovary, which can explode or grow even more with ovarian stimulation.
I am begging you to contact me to receive a list of the most experienced and skilled excision surgeons working in the UK.
I believe the endo was wrapped round my bowel and my bowel had to be taken out and the endo removed before they could proceed with the surgery.
I had been warned before hand that my tubes looked badly damaged and I knew there would be a high possibility of them being removed.
The surgeon I had has performed laparoscopys and said that he would normally use that procedure but would not be able to do so on me.
But he is the only surgeon I have spoken to with regards to my endo.
I have been told that the fertility doctor will go through my results, and I will not be able to proceed with treatment until the cyst is removed. So hopefully he will recommend someone to do excision surgery.
I just really wasn't expecting to have as large a cyst after such a short space of time
