Yes I was going to say there is a difference between starting and diagnosis. Started after coming off the pill at age 30, diagnosed at 51.

Gosh ! You went all that time before a diagnosis. I'm 38, I have 2 children both by c section and since having my last son 4 years ago I've really been suffering with pains. I've always had issues with my periods etc. I had my tubes removed so both boys are IVF. I think since my last surgery I've developed it. I have horrendous ovulation pain too. It's awful.

Diagnosed at 25. Constant pain started at 23. But had painful periods before that and had it in back of mind maybe something wasn't right. 💛 X X X

I'm 38 and always suffered with bad periods. Over last few years I've been experiencing awful ovulation pain. My doctor said he doesn't think I have endometriosis but having read all the different comments on here I'm sure I do

Ovulation pain is so awful! I have that too, it can be so so bad for nearly a week! I really hope you get a diagnosis soon! Keep pushing! I have only been diagnosed two months ago, but I'm so pleased I did, before it I thought I would go insane having no explanation. X X X

I get really anxious about it as I worry that it'll get worse. My doctor is ok but keeps wanting me to go on the pill. I don't use contraception as I don't have my tubes anymore. It's very frustrating at times xxx

Hello, how did they diagnose you ? I've had scans and a laparoscopy years ago but never been diagnosed with it. My tubes were removed 11 years ago xx

in reply toBuzzbee09

Removing your tubes won't cure endo, it has to be a total hysterectomy or it just keeps growing and clinging to organs.

I had symptoms from around 13/14 after starting my period at 11, which was always heavy and painful, but I was finally diagnosed at 27 when I had my second baby in 1987.

I was diagnosed via laparoscopy in 1992, had a total hysterectomy (after begging for it) in 1993.

I had symptoms since 11 and only got diagnosed at 41 (last year). I had IVF, multiple erroneous diagnoses and terrible pain with no mention of endo. Got diagnosed with stage 4 and adenomyosis and had a total hysterectomy within 2 months. It just took one GP to see all of my symptoms and listen to me to finally get an answer to so many problems and pain.

Diagnosed at 33 when an endometrioma forced the issue. I had symptoms from the age of 16-17 but didn't understand what was going on.

I was 14 year old and basically when my periods began - used to collapse in school in agony unable to stand or walk and would go white

Hi, I started my period at 10 which was always heavy and painful but was put on the pill to stop the symptoms a few years later, so I think this masked the symptoms for a while. I had the implant when I was 16 and have had non stop periods and pain since then. I stopped taking contraception when I was 20 and had such infrequent periods - none for months then 13 weeks bleeding non-stop. It was only when I went to the doctor for pelvic pain that was persistent and not period related at 26 that they started diagnosis. I'm now 27 and have had a proper diagnosis and laparoscopy, however still getting frequent symptoms.

Started my periods at 11 and have clear memories of what I now know are endo symptoms by 13. Approached my GP in my late teens who wrote it off as IBS. Eventually at about 27 after a referral due to a cyst I was reluctantly given a lap by a general gynaecology registrar who told me there was nothing wrong with me. Finally after escalating symptoms, A+E trips every few months, daily pain and nearly having an emergency appendectomy by mistake I paid to see a specialist privately who did surgery and at age 37 finally got diagnosed with deep infiltrating endo.

I have all of the symptoms. Awful pain during menstruation, 10 days before menstruation, ovulation pain, during sex, rectal pain. Pain in thighs and back.

I've just started taking the pill after my lap. I have endo stage 4. I don't have heavy bleeding, but it's irregular.

I started my period when I was 12. I had all the symptoms from the beginning. It only took me 30 years and one gyn who listened. In July I had my laparoscopy and was diagnosed with endometriosis stage 3.
