Hello I would be very grateful for some advice. My doctor has sent me to a pain clinic next week, as he said the general gynaecologist cant seem to find what's wrong. I have read threads on here and books about endometriosis and I'm determined I have it, all my symptoms add up. My doctor cant refer me to anyone now as I'm down with the pain clinic, therefore I have to discuss my options with them. Can anyone give me some advice on how to get them to refer me to a BGCE Centre, and listen to me ,not just close another door and leave me in pain. How do I go about demanding to be taken serious? Any help would be very much appreciated as I'm physically and emotionally worn out now.
Thanks

You need to ask for a second opinion/referral to another gynaecologist and push for a laparoscopy. That’s the only way to diagnose Endo. Trying to find an Endo specialist is a nightmare as most of them are private. Birmingham has an Endo centre on the NHS and think Nottingham May have one albeit with long waiting lists. Not sure about the rest of the country xxx
Many thanks for your reply I'm in the north east so bit far out. I have been trying to find a specialist in my area and not looking so good however im willing to travel. Thanks very much for your reply I will look into them centres x
Many thanks for your reply, I will look into the NICE guidelines. My doctor just keeps saying well you have seen the gynaecology team and people underneath them and they dont mo what it is, when I asked for second opinion he just shrugged and said well you seen one lot . Nightmare at the minute but am determined to demand something as my life is ruined by it. Thanks alot I will read your file and hopefully will help me get my point across, as I get sick of doctors palming me of with different medications to keep me quiet. Fingers crossed I will get sorted, it's just peace of mind for me, sometimes u feel like it's all in your head. Thanks xx
