I’m 20 years old and never had many health problems before. I am on here looking for advice, I am unsure wether this is associated with the endometriosis, the gynaecologist suspects I have.
Around 8 weeks ago, I began with pain that started suddenly in my lower, middle stomach where I had started to feel sick all the time, and not wanting to eat. I went back to see my gynaecologist who said it could be because of my endometriosis and changed the pill that I was on. Since then, around 5 weeks ago the pain went into my right side. Eventually it got so bad, it was painful to touch my side or breathe so I went to A&E and they said there was blood in my urine, diagnosed me with a UTI and I was given a course of antibiotics. These didn’t help, and in the first week the pain spread to my left side and across my back, so I spoke to a doctor, who gave me another weeks worth of antibiotics. These seemed to settle the pain for a couple of days, and then it came back in both of my sides.
It seems to get worse each day, and it is really painful. My doctors won’t even see me, because they have no record of the hospital saying I need a follow up appointment, even though I have rung the hospital and they have told me they have put on the records that I need to see a doctor. Plus, my doctors never have any appointments (I have rung daily at 8 in the morning for two weeks now).
I am just wondering whether pains in the right and left side are caused by endometriosis. It goes into my back only slightly, and is sometimes in my stomach. I cannot have the laparoscopy, as I have an undiagnosed heart condition.
Does anyone have any advice? I feel like I’m just waiting for it to get worse, until it gets so bad I go back to A&E.

I had a similar experience to you, at first my pains began to get worse around my period time until one day the pain in my lower stomach was so bad I ended up in A&E. Since then I had pains in my left or right side of abdomen and in lower back almost every day. The gp referred me for a scan and they found a large cyst which they suspected was causing the pain but during laparoscopy to remove the cyst they also found severe endometriosis. I've been in and out of hospital, found urine in my blood , been treated with antibiotics but from my own research it shows that the blood can be from endometriosis. I hope it is nothing serious for you, it can be scary, I am also only 22 yrs old and after 2 laporoscopies already.
Don't stay in pain, press on your gp to refer you for an ultra sound at least or change your doctor if they are not helpful, it could just be as a cyst.
I’ve already had an ultrasound, which came back normal, but the person doing the ultrasound didn’t understand why I’d been sent for one, as the pain is mostly on my side, where apparently they can’t do the ultrasound on.
It’s interesting you say the blood could be from the endometriosis, as this is something I wasn’t told about at A&E. I’m tied to one doctors as I’m a student in York and they have their own GP for students.
I went to A&E once again last night, he didn’t know what was wrong, and has just given me some codeine for the pain.
Feel like I’m getting no where!
Thanks for your response, it’s nice to know that other people can relate.
When you call your GP in the mornings demand an appointment. They do have them but they save them for ‘emergencies’, yours sounds like an emergency. Just said that you need an appointment and you can’t go on without one. If not go to A&E and keep going back until you’re seen! Don’t stop fighting, your body is telling you something is wrong xx
I went to A&E for the second time last night. The doctor didn’t know what’s wrong with me, but said the UTI has gone so it’s not that that’s causing pains. He said it’s probably not endometriosis pain, as the pains are too high up on my side. He told me to take in another urine sample to my GP today to check for bacteria, but my GP won’t accept it., as they said I need to see one of their doctors first (even though there next appointment is the 19th October). Thankyou for your help. I think I might go see another doctor at a walk in centre Today, but no one seems to know what’s wrong xx
