Hi I’m just wondering if anyone else had a laparoscopy on the NHS? And how quickly they heard back from them? When I was in my gynaecology appointment at the end of July the doctor gave me my laparoscopy date during that appointment. I’m yet to receive any confirmation of the date yet so I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this happen just to see how long I should wait before contacting them. My operation date is in September x

Hello
It's unusual to be given a date at your appointment.
I'd give them a call and ask. Have you had a preop? As you need this before your surgery to check things and give you information on when to stop eating etc.
I thought that when he came in and told me the date on my operation, as I’ve never had that happen, and all I was told was I’d get a letter about my pre op and operation but I’ve not heard anything so far, I mean it’s still over a month away but I though I’d have heard by now
Definitely call them and chase it both the confirmation of the op date and which slot you are (am or pm as you need to be there at different times). As they'll need to fit you in for a preop before and my preop is about a month after my gynecology appointment, so that month will quickly fly by so do it ASAP.
Thank you for your reply I’ve just gotten off the phone to my consultants secretary and she said I’m on the list but the letters don’t get sent out until like 6 weeks before so I’m due a letter this week or next, then I guess that should hold more information? This process has been so complicated I can’t keep up x
