A small update and hoping for some advice

Hello again, I hope you’re all well!

I have just this minute come back from the doctors after speaking to a different GP about my current situation. It was another typical appointment at my surgery - she was late on schedule and so she told me I need to be quick as she only has 10 minutes.. so already I knew she wasn’t in the right frame of mind to listen to me properly.

I told her that the gynaecologist I last spoke to had suggested I take IBS tablets for four months and come back to him, which I decided not to do as I knew IBS medication would only sort 1% of my symptoms.

I explained to her that the burning pain during my periods leads me to throw up, have diarrhoea and then I get all feverish, by which she responded ‘did you actually have a fever and take your temperature or do you just mean to say you got hot and sweaty?’ And at this point I knew she wasn’t taking me seriously because she started to just put off everything I said as if it was normal to be in excruciating pain on your period.

I then told her about the pain during sex and the brown discharge/bleeding I get during/afterwards, and all she had to say was ‘I see that you’ve had tests for sexual diseases and they’re all clear, but maybe you should get them done again?’ And by this point I was getting really frustrated because she was asking me how long I had been with my partner and if I’m using contraception blah blah blah, because I’ve noticed that I’m ‘still young’ so OF COURSE I couldn’t possibly have anything else other than an STI :)

(I hate to be sarcastic but it had to be said)

But after I listed my symptoms she said it sounds like I could have either endometriosis or pms. So I thought at least I’m getting somewhere. She suggested I go on the mini pill for 3-4 months to see if it helps because I’m unable to go on the combined pill (migraines) and I’ve had the injection and I was all over the place hormonally and bled for 2 months of it.

I’m thinking of taking the mini pill for 3 months to see if anything changes/helps - I have a feeling it won’t but it’s worth a try. I have spoken to my family and they’ve suggested I go private as I’ve had so many appointments and I’m getting absolutely no where.

My question is, has anyone been on the mini pill and if so, has it helped/changed anything and how was your overall mood? - As I’m most worried it will affect my mood.

If anyone has anymore recommendations for specialists I could see in the southampton/fareham/eastleigh area so that I have more options, that would be amazing, thank you!

Thank you for reading this far, sorry again that it is long winded

G
