I have finally agreed to go ahead with a full abdominal hysterectomy after my last meeting with my gynaecologist..no other drug treatments so this is the final option. Go for a pre-op this week and on the waiting list so expect to get my date 12-16 weeks time. Still apprehensive though..worried about the menopausel effects afterwards.

Good luck I have not regretted my hysterectomy last year age 45 and have HRT gel which works wonders.
How long did you explore other options before you got your hysterectomy. I just want mine out. The pain is just horrendous.
Hi...have tried all drug options over the years..contraceptive pill for a number of years..and recently zoladex...but as soon as periods return so does the pain..was diagnosed at 18 so have struggled from then to now...I’m 42 now..was lucky to have a very understanding male doctor to be fair...had previously been under a female who wasn’t very sympathetic at all..just quoted the cost of surgery at me! So I seen my gynaecologist last November and did the course of zoladex ..went back to hospital 2wks ago and the decision was made to go ahead with surgery. I would emphasise to your doctor/gynae how it affects your quality of life...taking painkillers every day isn’t acceptable and missing out on events and rescheduling things every month is no way to have a decent lifestyle.
