Prostap and HRT

So I am due for injection number 3 and have had horrendous side effects I literally feel like the life has been zapped out of me! I have been to the hospital today and they said they can give me HRT with it, I just wondered if anyone has tried this combination and does it work? Because I can not function on the prostap alone the side effects are too bad.

Hi , I am prostap and HRT patches , the doctor gave me the HRT because I just couldnt function daily with prostap. I had very bad headaches and joint pain from prostap.

I have been on prostap for 18months now. My hysterectomy is in July so not long before I am off the dreaded injections . Hang in there .

Thank you for your reply. Did the HRT help with the side effects from the injections? Because honestly the thought of having another one fills me with dread unless the HRT will help

Hi there sounds awful I hope you are feeling better soon x I started my first Prostap two weeks ago and feel horrendous, the headaches and migraines are beyond everything I've ever had and the joints have got worse like 777melg. I've been advised it gets better after 3/4weeks and am on HRT but feel that is making me unwell too as in constant pain because it seems to have made the endometriosis and adenomyosis 10times worse :(

I'm having a laparoscopy in August but was offered the hysterectomy too and feel my life is over as its become so debilitating - did you feel this way throughout your first and 2nd jab?

xxx

I was due to have my 3rd prostap injection on Thursday but I didnt have it, but after talking to the nurse specialist she said I could try the HRT but I’m waiting for my prescription and will have the injection next week, I just hope the HRT works as I seriously can not function with the side effects from prostap, I also have been offered a hysterectomy but I’m only 39 so am very undecided, none of the options are great😩 . Hope your feeling better now

Aww I don't blame you you've done so well having it without HRT so far. I started it 3 days after and still feel horrific. How long have you had endometriosis for? I'm 30 and had it 19years but this is the most debilitating now and I think a hysterectomy will help but it won't cure it as it's on my bladder bowel and pelvis. I really hope you feel better soon and there's lots of HRT so can always try more xxx ❤

I’ve had endometriosis for over 20 years I was diagnosed quite young, I was also told I would not conceive naturally and chances of conception with IVF would be slim. I now have 2 children!!! One conceived through ivf the second natural!.. I was able to manage the endometriosis symptoms after having the children but after my son who is 4 it has gradually got worse. But I feel a hysterectomy is a huge step! 🤷🏻‍♀️

That sounds just like me I was 11 when I got diagnosed and always got told to get on with it with lots of miscarriages but am so lucky to have our children. So happy you have children also it's terrifying isn't it what we go through and are so blessed! Mine also got worse after my second and third and its beyond unbearable now I don't know how we can be advised that having babies is a cure as it has huge complications. Yes I agree it is daunting is yours on your womb only? At 11 and 17 my laparoscopies had endo shaved off on my bowel and I've been ignored since so 13 years later I dread to think how it'll be in August and its likely to be bladder bowel and pelvis but I'm feeling worse on prostap so I just feel at a loss! Xx

Tibilone 2.5 mg is the HRT I was on with Prostap. It worked for me and made the Prostap bearable without causing any bleeding, but I was taking it from the beginning. It may take some time for the HRT to help. Hope you can find something that helps very soon! xx

Aww thank you for replying hun did you have any other issues? I have kivoline or something and had it 3 days later as was scared and if I take it late by accident it makes me have awful sweats and migraine and bleeding. My asthma has been worse and I finally don't have as many migraines or sweats but the pain is beyond anything so I'm not sure if that's normal or not. Are you staying on prostap long term? Hope you're feeling better as can be on this! Xx
