Lichen sclerosus. Embarrassing! White Skin on Vulva / Clitoris

Just need some advice please.

No weird discharge, no horrible smell, itching, puss etc. Just skin around my ... lady area is turning white. Sorry for TMI but not sure what to do.

Edit: potentially Lichen sclerosus. Anyone else dealt with this?

It could be thrush how long have you had it x

I have no discharge or itching so I don't think I do. Have no idea, only just noticed the white patches. Ty for your reply x

Go to your gp, tmi I know but sometimes friction can cause the skin to flake off x

Me too...I have had just a few months now ,and on strong steroid cream...I sure have to be careful what i wash with..One thing might work for a while and then no good next time...Diaper cream might los be your friend...My next thing to try is hand made baby soap and after coconut oil....Soon I taper off steroid cream and im doing every other day now...Vitamin E oil caps broken open and apply give relief, but nothing gets rid of it and you have to use steroid cream for some length of time....Can be caused by autoimmune stuff they think....

I’ve had LS for at least 10 years, it was massively undiagnosed for at least 5 years before this - GPs just kept sending me for STI tests - which were all negative!

Although it is categorised by white skin on your vulva, the most common tell-tale sign that you have it is extreme (and I mean unrelenting!) itching of your vulva and very uncomfortable soreness.

The best way to get diagnosed is to be referred to a gynaecologist or someone who specialises in vulval dermatology and this is very important because there is a slim risk of vulval cancer if it goes untreated.

To put your mind at rest (or to confirm diagnosis and the best form of treatment) I’d advise you to get it checked.
