Can anyone help on this ? I had the Mirena fitted 7 days ago under a general in hospital plus 2 cervical pollops removed . On returning home I bled for a few days (nothing major) and had the stomach cramps ( period pains) that everyone told me I would have . What I still have is full on bloating - I can't put jeans on and fit into most of my clothes which does not feel right - its like my stomach is sore . I don't have Endometriosis but premature ovarian failure which is why I was pushed to have the coil . On top of this its not been easy to go to the loo and I have felt constipated but I have had bowel movements - just worried I might have an infection but I'm not getting the full on pains just the uncomftable bloated feeling .

Problems with Mirena Coil bloated stomach
Hallo it took 3 weeks for my swollen tummy to go down after a lap. If you have an infection the area would likely also feel hot and the pain would be throbbing (rather than aching if you know what I mean). If you’re concerned though, go back to your Dr x
Hey thanks for this . I’m going to try and get an appointment today . I’ve also read that activated charcoal tablets can help reduce the swelling . Did take some yesterday and they have seemed to help with it a bit . I think there is no infection as not feeling that hot throbbing pain but just wondering if it’s in correctly?! You would hope being fitted under a general it would be . Thanks so much for your reply though - put my mind at rest a bit so Thankyou x
You’re welcome 😊 I personally don’t have the mirena coil but I’ve heard it takes some people a while to get used to it, if at all. Have you searched this site for other conversations about the mirena coil? There are mixed views about it, but you might find something you can relate to (just don’t scare yourself 😁)
I know what you mean on scarying yourself. I’m my own worst enemy. I will check it out and see if anyone else has had the same . A friend also suggested it could be an after reaction to the anaesthetic as that can play havoc with your system as well . Be glad when it all settles down
