Constant pain after Decapeptyl (Endometriosis flare?)

Hi everyone,

I’ve got a long and complicated history (as I’m sure most of us have!) - my specialist thinks I have endometriosis. I struggled through a 6 months course of Decapeptyl- I was pain and period free but the other side effects were horrendous.

However, I’ve not long had my 1st period since having the Injections- it was horrendous and ended up on Oramorph which I now have at home. The pain is constant- every day for the last 2 weeks; even though now my period has finished which it never used to be like that before the injections. It feels like the influx of hormones returning has done something- like fed jt or something...

Just wondered if other Endo sufferers can tell me if it’s normal to get pain all the time...is this just a bad flare up? Is this just my body settling down? Is this normal for some Endo suffers to have pain single everyday (of some degree). Xx

Hi kat. Sorry to hear that you are suffering. I've been on decapeptyl and the side effects of when it was leaving my system were quite bad. Maybe go to your gp in case they can help.

I too am in pain every day from endo and adenomyosis. Your body might be just readjusting. Xx

How long was it after the injections that your period returned? I’m coming to the end of my 3 months x

I think it was ~3 months before my periods returned. If I remember correctly, the side effects eased around the same time my cycle returned.
