Hope you lovely ladies are having a pain free day!
So, every month at period time, along with the pain, I get a cold sore up my nose or on my lip, same place. For the last three months now at the same time my eye lid on the same side has become red and watery, feels irritated. I’ve only today put it together that it’s happening all at once. Last month I went to the pharmacy and saw the pharmacist who couldn’t give me anything as it wasn’t infected, said it could be an allergy-after afew days though it went down again and now it’s back, right on time with everything else!
Is it a coincidence? Anyone else suffering with this? I’m going to ask my GP and gyne when I see him in June, but it is always good to hear from experienced ladies like you x

I linked up mouth ulcers with my menstraul cycle/endometriosis flare ups and eye irritation which could be sensitivities to my make up routine due to the Endometriosis lowering our immune systems as people with it tend to get allergies and cold sores etc linked.
My eyes would look like pink eye, the whites pink and inflamed and producing a sebum.
On the very odd chance we could actually have endometriosis of the eye (apparently its been found there) this was happening to me almost every month prior to hysterectomy and at some point I thought it was linked to my migraines but then it was happening without headache...
I have had to order prescription eye drops off the Doc and flush my eyes out.
I also get an itchy slit at the side of my right nostrel its a reoccuring thing and again Ive also heard others mention this kind of flare up/cold sore/ cracked mouth skin etc being linked to Endometriosis.
Apparently people are more likely to have a lowered immune system as the body fights the endo.
There are lots of intetesting articles posted on the Facebook Pages of various endometriosis support groups within the U.K and Ireland. I like to read the research and the experiences of others via this channel, Im not in any way soliciting a service just mentioning its where I can glean some knowledge and similar
Peoples experiences etc.
Oh;
Id also get a timely monthly itch in the back of my right thigh at the time of the month, thats the only symptom Ive lost since hysterectomy, the rest Ive still got ongoing.
Hi Helly hope you are well always lovely to hear from you but I’m do sorry it’s because you’ve had these symptoms too! At least I’m not going mad-I did think it was possibly an immune system thing with the cold sore but I can’t believe it’s happening with my eye! Nightmare. I have an MRI soon and have been asked to consider prostap-have you any experience with that? Emma xxxx
Im on a tablet of Progesterone (Provera) think D Provera is the injection side of it they are all Progesterones.
Put it like this, I "trialled" coming off my progesterone as thought it was possibly adding to side effects of chronic tiredness, generally not feeling well, appetite increase and weight gain and not being pain free enough to exercise etc and twice I had almost immediate cyclical type pain, the stabbing right sided knife punctures 4 of which so fast and so abrupt woke me out of my sleep one night.
There had been nore nighling ache n pain throughout my abdomen too...literally both times going back on the Provera cut alot of this out Emma.
So...Damned if I do and damned if I dont..
My experience is progesterone helps my pain symptoms.
