Every month is a mystery, relate?

Hello ladies, do you have periods that are full of symptoms and then other periods that are more manageable? Sometimes I think maybe I don't have Endo because my period feels normal. Or I think I'm getting better. And then the next period is worse than ever. No period is the same for me and so I never know what to expect. It will sometimes arrive on day 25 and the next month it will arrive on day 35. I also have months that I have very painful back pain that radiates through my hips, through my buttocks and down my legs. Or my arm can go numb. Other months I have menorrhagia and huge baseball size clots and no back pain. I'm very confused. Do any of you experience your cycles like this?

Big hug to all of you experiencing pain and frustration! Thank you for your time!

Oh yes. I was just diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis like a week and a half ago through exploratory surgery so I know I have it and mine fluctuate as well. Over Christmas I had cramps and flow so bad on vacation that I considered going to the ER, the next month I had a period on day 18, the last 2 months (currently on now) have been relatively light as far as pain and flow goes. So? Who knows why this happens but don't doubt yourself. Your symptoms are real.

Thank you for your reply! So I'm not crazy? ;)

What is the next step for you after the exploratory surgery?

I was not sure if my irregular periods had something to do with hormonal imbalance or Endo. But my test hormonal tests do not reflect a problem. Have the doctors said anything to you about your irregularity?

Big hug!

Yes, I find it very frustrating and quite a big source of anxiety. I almost think if they were always bad then that would be easier to cope with because I’d know what to expect?

However I’m starting to notice patterns of what can cause it to be worse or better so im trying to pay attention to that. X

What have you found make it better or worse?

Well I’ve noticed that if I exercise regularly then I’m better able to cope mentally even if I experience high levels of pain. When I take a regular CBD supplement I also notice less pain and depressed feelings.

I have also been seeing a counsellor and have noticed I’m talking about endo a lot in my sessions - I feel like that’s contributing to being able to cope with the ups and downs x
