Hi
Has anyone had a better experience with going private??
As I’m seeing at endo specialist later tonight and hoping he can help get things sorted.
Hey, I had a private consultation and omg if I could have afford the lap privately, I would have.
I went to spire Manchester and it didn’t even feel like a hospital it was that nice haha. The gynae was an endo specialist so he really knew his stuff and immediately told me where he thinks the endo was and he was right as my lap revealed it.
I was in the appointment for about an hour but just be careful as I got charged for a pelvic exam as well but it was like £14 extra.
He referred back onto the nhs for my lap which was 8 months later but if I paid for it, it would have been done a week or so after my appointment.
I saw around 7 gynaes on the nhs beforehand and honestly going private for it really got things moving in the right direction and proved I wasn’t crazy haha xxx
Thanks for your message it’s so good to know that you had a better experience with going private I’m just anxious as had a lap done on nhs in 2015 and nothing was found but I just can’t settle for you have heavy and irregular periods not with all my symptoms 🙈
I’m lucky because if he suggests another lap I could have it done privately fingers crossed.
Did you manage to get a diagnosis in the end? X
Yeah I was diagnosed with stage 2 endo last July. I still get a bit of pain but I’m on zoladex atm but my gynae is a bit useless and doesn’t know much about endo or anything xxx
sorry I read it back after I replied and could see you have been diagnosed, bet that was a relief to finally know what was going on.
oh no sorry to hear you are still in pain with it I know that a lot of people still suffer even with treatment for it ,did it take you years to find out?? As if I have another lap it will be my second one and the first one didn't show anything.
can you see someone else who does then?
xxx
It took me about 3 years as I was too scared to go doctors when I was 14-15 but I finally went when I was 16 as it was stopping my life. And I’m honestly not sure if I can see anyone else yet as I haven’t asked xxx
I went private and my experience was soo much better than I've heard on here from those going through the NHS
It's quicker, they actually listen to you, and want to find out what's wrong rather than just give you pills. Plus the appointments and operations can be booked when you want them. The follow ups are standard and you have the same consultant you see doing your lap and follow ups.
Just have a read up to make sure yours is an endo specialist, you can usually google them.
Happy to answer any questions.
Feel free to have a look through my experience
"All this effort does pay off - my story - hope it helps !"
Just search for it xx
I had a great experience going privately - was seen by an endo consultant within a few days and had my op within a week. Probably the best money I've ever spent. Ask away if you have any questions, and I hope it went well for you last night.
Thanks for the message and yes it paid off waiting for mri scan then booked in for lap in april so fingers crossed he finds something x
