Urinary test

Hi All,

I went to see the doctor on Tuesday (12/3/19) for a medication review as i am currently on mefenemic acid and amytriptyline (was 10mg, after a trip to A&E i increased this to 20mg which i made the doctor aware of). I spoke about numbness at times in my right leg and pains in the front and back of both my legs on bad days. He is referring me for physio which i have an appt for. He also wanted me to do a urine test as i mentioned the burning in my kidneys (right kidney is worse than left). This is intermittent and im not sure of the trigger. Im 95% i do not have a UTI as ive had this pain and burning for quite a while, however when i rang the doctors for my result today, they told me he has put on the system that he wants me to re-do a sample in 1 weeks time? Has anyone ever had this before? If so, what came from it? I dont know what he has seen/found out and they wouldn't tell me anything apart from he wants it re-done. Im going out my mind thinking there is something really wrong.

Any help is really appreciated.

TIA :)

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about love, probably just that he could see from the results that it wasn't a clear result, maybe the test was contaminated. Or if you're ovulating or on your period that can drastically alter the results. Or it could simply be that there was a very slight sign of infection but only very small and he wants to see if it clears up on its own, save giving you antibiotics unnecessarily. And absolutely ignore the receptionists, in my experience some doctors receptionists can act like such a jobs worth.

If by Monday you're still feeling anxious about the situation maybe call the doctors and get a face to face or even phone appointment with the same doctor so you can ask him his reasons for requesting a second sample and tell him his receptionists are useless!

Xxxx
