Is it likely or unlikely I have endometriosis

Hi, I’ve already posted but not had much response. I’m struggling with what is going on with me.

I’ve been experiencing pain inside vagina for approximately 1 year now. It started with tampons being uncomfortable, stopped wearing these and was ok until I got into a sexual relationship.... the sex was excruciating and bled afterwards. That was knocked on the head from then on. Went to doctors and an examination and swabs were taken. All came back normal. The pain inside was getting worse as time went on and felt like a constant ache, sometimes as if something was inside, sometimes like a pulling sensation, back and forward to the doctors for to still be told things look normal.... all blood tests came back normal. Was sent for unltrasound of pelvic area and they found a small fibroid and a small cyst on ovary, none of which they think would be causing me the pain I was experiencing.

Also experiencing some abdominal pain at times along with bloating, can feel the pain inside more when I poo and urinate.

Later the gp referred me to a gynaecologist, I see her last week and she carried out an examination which I found extremely painful, she didn’t get as good a look as she wanted but did say she seen that my posterior vagina was looked very red and sore. She mentioned that this bled when she took a swab from it. She says this was unusual. I see her again in 3 weeks time to discuss what happens next but I think she wants to put me under general anaesthetic to do a more thorough examination. I have been reading about rectovaginal endometriosis and feel a lot of the symptoms match mine. Does anyone else experience these symptoms or know what this could be if not endometriosis?

I am 33 years old, I have had 3 children (one of which resulted in fourth degree tear and one c-section)

Hiya - I know that endo presents differently for all women. For me, it's painful sex, bloating, and stomach pains. It's good that you're seeing a gynae, hopefully they'll be able to tell you more after the operation x

Hi Alfie1229, this sounds awful and I’m so sorry to hear about someone suffering in this way.

My Endo symptoms aren’t that similar to yours, but if I’ve learned anything on here it’s that there are many symptoms and not everyone has the same experience.

I hope you get some answers and help soon, please keep going back to your doctor and pushing for answers. I was fobbed off for years because I kept taking no for an answer.

Take care x
