So I had my first laparoscopy yesterday for suspected endo and adhesions.
As mentioned in previous posts I had my first child via c-section so I was told this would increase my chances of both endo and adhesions.
My symptoms are inline with both those of endo and adhesions.
My gynae came to see me after surgery yesterday and told me that it was good New as no endo was found, however she did remove some old scar tissue and adhesions which were affectively sticking my uterus to my c-section scar.
My gynae was so sure I had endo during my consultation so I was surprised she found nothing, can adhesions cause as many problems as endo?!
I feel I should count myself lucky that my issues may be sorted once healed but I’m also concerned she missed something.
I was sent home with little to no information at all. My main symptoms were period cramps on ovulation, right sided stabbing pains 1-2 weeks prior to period and period pains simulate to being in labour and dragging sensations in my legs and pain in my bottom in sitting whilst on my period.
Sorry for the lengthy post I just feel left in limbo atm xx

Had you been on any meds (contraceptives etc) before the laparoscopy? I was told by my gynae that because ive been on various contraceptives , most recently the depo injection, if I were to have a laparoscopy now they might not find anything but it wouldn't mean I didn't have endo it would just mean the depo had reduced it. However , I was also told the adhesions would remain despite being on depo.
Hi, I had taken desogestrol (cerelle) for a few weeks but hadn’t got on with it as I had a permanent headache and altered mood so I stopped taking it a few weeks before my lap.
I’m just shocked that I’ve been told minimal information, I was sent home with no aftercare advice and told that I would not be seen again and no follow up needed. I would have thought a follow up after a procedure was standard.
All I was told was that adhesions and scar tissue had been removed.
I guess all I can do now is see how I feel once I’m healed and hope whatever they’ve done will work.
I'm shocked too that you've not had much info or support! Thats awful I hope you're ok. Hopefully you'll feel a difference when you're healed.. have they suggested any other hormonal treatment options other than cerelle? x
I glad you’re not going though the hell that is endometriosis, it’s a horrid illness to deal with. Adhesions are also problematic and very painful when other organs are involved. I would have though the doctor would follow up with you in 6 weeks to see how you are doing and then refer you back to your GP.
Adhesions can unfortunately reconnect and I hope this doesn’t happen to you but keep a diary on how you feel; it will help you if you ever need to be referred again.
