I have my first appointment with a specialist this afternoon after my Endometriosis diagnosis 10 months ago.
Doctors and hospitals make me extremely anxious (no idea why, Iv always felt the same).
My diagnosis was accidental really. I went to hospital for 2 surgeries. After finding a lump 7 years ago, I was diagnosed with a hernia. So I first had “Hernia repair” surgery. and then when they realised it wasn’t a hernia, they then decided it was a Granuloma. I had a second surgery to remove this, and it was sent off for testing. However, when the histology came back, it was recognised as a mass of endometriosis.
So although I have had a diagnosis, I have no idea the extent of it.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect from my first appointment today.
Thanks all.

Hi, not quite in the same boat but similar (had laparoscopy and excision 3 weeks ago and have follow up on 19th Feb) but just wanted to send some positive vibes and try to reassure you about feeling anxious. I think it's fairly normal to be a bit antsy but try to keep calm and remember you have come far on your journey and it shouldn't be a battle from here on in. Make a list of questions, write what they say to you down and clarify anything you don't understand (I find it useful to look back on after an appointment and reflect on as I find it hard to take it in at the time). Best of luck and keep us posted x
