Just a bad day...

Hey ladies

Sorry for the negativity that might ensue, but I'm hoping that by writing it down to you who understand, it might help!

I'm just so fed up of feeling crook.

I've had a bad sinus infection that lingered around for about two weeks, and I had to work at the weekend. I feel that all the time spent resting before that was just made completely pointless because now my hips, thighs, bum, back and legs, are all screaming at me. I also feel a bit shivery and like I might be getting a fever - I took a naproxen late last night but I've never felt this side effect before. It's all so confusing - is it just the virus lingering or is it a side effect of the naproxen?!

Does anyone else feel like the usual illnesses are worse because of endometriosis? I read somewhere that we are more likely to have a weaker immune system.

My skin is bad and one of my eyes is really blurry - my gut tells me I just need to rest. But I'm so darn fed up of resting. I want to be energetic and lively - it's my partner's birthday tomorrow, and we don't exactly have a lot of money, so we were just going to spend the day out together, but I'm not sure I can even manage walking to the shops at the moment.

This illness is so frustrating sometimes!!

Hello.

I'm sorry to see that you are feeling really run down and unwell at the moment. If you feel like you could use someone to talk to you could try ringing our Helpline, it is staffed by volunteers who all have experience of endometriosis. They can offer you support and information or just a friendly ear. The Helpline number is 0808 808 2227 and opening times can be found on our website endometriosis-uk.org/helpline.

Best wishes

I don't know if this helps but sometimes when I've been going through a bad flare up I feel weak, shivery etc by evening. Almost like I'm starting the flu. At which point I just have to stop what I'm doing and go to bed even if its only 7pm!

I get what you mean about a weakened immune system as I've had a run of respiratory tract infections leading to sinusitis and usually ending up with conjunctivitis as I'm so run down during the last 18 months. I found swapping my multivitamin to one containing selenium really helped my general health. Its not a magic pill, but so far this autumn/winter I've not had a cold which for me is truly a miracle! I also started taking large doses of vitamin E which has helped my skin (I have lots of skin allergies btw) Only small things but its bad enough dealing with the endo let alone every illness under the sun as well. Hope you have a better day today :)

You poor thing.

It sounds like you are having a real bad time.

I often have days like that and think of nice things to do that will cheer me up.

I love a hot bath with plenty of scented bubbles or some Epsom salts for my aches and a big mug of tea!

If you dim the light and use scented candles it is very relaxing.

Also, I find a series on net flix that detracts me from my pains.

It may sound silly but it boosts my spirits and the endo is put on pause.

I hope that has helped and you are able to find a happy place.

Take it easy and look after yourself.

Wishing you well.

Also, fresh air and a change of scenery can help.

Wrap up warm and just have a gentle day enjoying each other's company.

I find a gentle walk really helps.

Please let me know about your day out if you are well enough.
