Hey, kind of feel like an intruder, having laparoscopic surgery in January because of suspected endo. For 11 years I've been told the reason behind my pain and sickness is everything between IBS, chlamydia and that it's 'just' period pain. Really happy that I'm finally being listened to and taken seriously. Just feel a bit isolated with it, I've got amazing people who are supporting me but feel that no one really gets what I'm going through with pain etc. Also feel a bit lost as I don't have a diagnosis so I've been reluctant to join this site. Ended up seeking help and was encouraged to join, just looking for advice on how to cope in the last stretch. Hope this is okay
I'm new here..: Hey, kind of feel like an... - Endometriosis UK
I'm new here..
Welcome and you will find so much support on here from us lovely ladies.
Ask anything, I would be lost without this site as you can actually speak to people who get it!!!
I use to speak to my family however I didn’t want to keep going on about things that they would never understand, some things are also personal so sharing on here is good as always someone else going through the same thing.
Glad you are being taken seriously now.
I have not had a 100% diagnosis of Endo as I am waiting for a lap too and many of us on here are in the same situation.
I have other gynae issues - sucks doesn’t it!

Hi welcome!
I’m in the same boat. I have my first laparoscopy next week (11/12).
I’m glad you’re now being taken seriously. I hope you’re surgery goes well and you get the answers you need.
The support from this group is amazing. No need to feel isolated, I’m sure you’ll get a response to most questions you ask here xx
I don’t think you’re intruding! You’re owning this disease because you’re doing your research. You can search for posts that relate to your symptoms in this group and build up some knowledge. Search wider, like endometriosis-uk.org and bsge.org.uk. Listen to your body and in time you will become more confident in your search for treatment. Hang in there! X
