Hi Louise, I hope it all went well for you. I can’t offer advice about the lap as I have not had one yet however you are probably emotional as you have been through a lot. When we are in pain, it makes me grumpy, irritated and could cry at anything. Sure it’s all normal. Hope you have someone looking after you. Watch some box sets, invite your friends over, anything to keep your mind occupied. Also relax and sure you will fell better in time x
I've only had a lap, but the anaesthesia does funny things to you. It's completely normal for your emotions to be all over the place, after my lap I cried because I couldn't make my bed and had to ask my mum for help! The best thing I found was curling up on the sofa with a heat pack and a blanket, with a cup of peppermint tea and a good box set on the tv! Make yourself a little sofa nest with everything you need in easy reaching distance, and don't be too hard on yourself! Your body's been through a lot xx As for the pain, make sure you take your painkillers regularly, don't try to tough it out. I was taking ibuprofen and paracetamol alternately every 2 hours after my lap for the first few days. Your brain will be a bit scatty to write down what you had and what time, it really helped me xx Feel free to PM me if you want any more advice, or just want a chat. I'll be happy to help in any way I can xx
