Can anyone relate to this... I had painful periods as a teenager but manageable and then in my early 20s the period pain became excuriating to the point where Im vomitting, so light headed, diarrhea and just the worst pain I could imagine plus back pain. What I imagine labour contractions are!
I originally thought it was just a one off episode but kept happening every month. So my dr put me on the pill which has made my 'period' manageable. I ache and cramp for a few days but the pain is no where near the level off the pill. My dr keeps telling me some women just have bad period pain...
anyone had anything similiar and been diagnosed with endo?

Hi. Yes i have had the same since i first started my period, and the doctor confirms it is contractions of the muscles around the pelvis area which is why you will also vomit and have diarrhoea. Mine used to last around two hours, then i would become really cold and sleep after falling in and out of consciousness due to the blood being taken away from your head. Taking naproxen before the symptoms start helps me but it doesn't make it go away. I was put in the pill immediately from 13 but it only masks the endo, it didn't help it so when i came off 17 years later to try and conceive, i ended up in exactly the same situation again so ended up have a laparoscopy last year with an official diagnosis 18 years after my period first started! If i could go back i wouldn't have taken the pill for so long, although i wasn't t trying to conceive then, but i do feel the doctors put me on it to stop me complaining, rather than dealing with the endo in the first place!
