Just wanted to post as I am feeling a bit nervous. So I have had endo for 15 plus yrs and the pain has been dreadful. I had a lap in april (one of many!) And my gynae found stage 3 endo on my bladder which explains so much. I finally had a follow up appt beginning of sept and my gynae gave me 3 choices, live with it and manage with meds (not doing that as it has not worked so far!), go on zoladex for 2 yrs (again no as had it in the past and the side effects are not worth it for me and then after 2 yrs back in the same place as now) or have another lap and have it excisioned out. Well decided to go for option 3 but the waiting list on the NHS is awful he said about 8 months! I know it is not their fault and it is just because endo is being recognised more so need for more surgeries. Therefore I have had to look at private just so I can get my life back! Luckily i have an amazing family who are paying for it and am having another lap on fri. I just feel so nervous and whether I can ever get back to feeling myself again. Hopefully after this all i can get on with my life but just needed to get these feelings and emotions off my chest.
Thanks for reading and hope everyone is having a pain free day or at least manageable 😀

hey, well done for being brave enough to post this!
I went private for the same reason - never mind the life back thing - just the care is sooo much better; your own room, you get to see your actual surgeon and anaesthetist before the op, you get to speak to your surgeon once back in your room and fully awake, check up in 2 weeks is usually standard and the follow up in 3 to 4 months is included. Even just follow up care and explaining things is so much better.
The excision should help you get back to being you, if not backwards then forwards as a new you, stronger you Just bear in mind it may not last - mine was estimated at 2ish years before more treatment may be needed. But even then you can enjoy life relatively pain free - pain is just around my periods now.
Hope it all goes okay, message me if you need to know anything re private care, even approximate costs / how it's split out, and questions to ask when at the hospital, happy to give advice xx
Thanks for this really appreciate it. Yes I know that it won't last forever I just need even a few months pain free it has got me so down and I'm surprised that I even have friends and my husband still around due to my moods!!
I had my pre assessment this morning and all went well worried me a little bit as the nurse was completely unaware I was staying overnight as she was saying i'll go home the same day but my gynae told me im having a cathetar(think thats how you spell it!) She also did not know what zoladex is and i felt like I had more info then she did!! So felt a little lost, just want to get this over with and enjoy the rest of my 30's as my 20's i spent mostly in bed and not in a good way! Thanks for the offer and if i have any questions I may come to you. Xx
