I had a diagnostic laparoscopy yesterday morning, where my consultant found and removed stage 2 endometreosis.
Since coming home, my stomach feels like a punching bag. I haven't yet been to the loo, which isn't helping the pain or bloating. Its really hurting to pass wind due to my stomach tenderness. Has anyone had similar experiences after surgery?
Thanks again

Hey I'm recovering from my first lap too such I had earlier this week. The pouncing bag feeling gets easier keep on top of your painkillers. Peppermint tea helps with the gas pains, normally I hate hot drinks but I've been having air of them this week. It took a few days for me to do any bowel movements but I have taken senakot overnight to aid as I'm on cocodamol which bungs me up anyway on top of the anesesthia.
Hey, I felt very similar after mine. It takes a few days for the gases to settle, Peppermint tea really helps and I found having gentle home therapies like eating some prunes, having some kefir and taking bio-cult really helped. If you're not big on those then taking a supplement called Bio-Cult was great. Also the Codeine based drugs tend to block you up, naproxen is a little gentler. Hope you feel better soon!
Hey, it took me a few days to feel the pain as the painkillers after surgery made me feel on cloud 9 😂 but after they wore off I couldn’t get out of bed.
It took me a while to go to the loo (sorry tmi) but I applied ice wrapped in a towel just under my bellybutton to help with swelling and tenderness. And laxatives as I couldn’t eat due to the sore throat xxx
Hi, if you are taking Codeine that could contribute to your bloating on pain. I was in a horrendous state after an emergency c-section, but when I made the decision to stop taking the codeine my pain improved tremendously! The codeine was giving me more trouble than the actual op! x
