GnRH side effects

I wondered how long the hot flush side effect of zoladex/gonapeptal subsided? I’m 8 weeks post my last injection, and this is just becoming a bit of a joke. I haven’t had a period yet but the pain side of endo came back around 4 weeks ago, no where near as extreme as it was so I’m expecting it to get a lot worse. The hot flushes are just awful, I’ve stopped livial as my skin was flaring so I presumed my body had started to produce its own oestrogen but maybe not. I’m so confused, any advice from anyone?

Hi there

The hot flushes will continue until you take HRT. I had them for 4 weeks and then at my second injection started HRT and they went. My skin was v dry for a while but then things balanced themselves and then it was fine. I imagine the pain may be to do with the fact that you’ve been on livial and then off it but I know everyone is different on these injections in terms of their pain. If the plan is for you to be on the injections long term then you will need HRT and this will sort out the hot flushes.

Good luck. X
