I am 16 and i just had my laporoscopy done on thursday! Obviously it is normal to feel nervous and scared especially for a 16yr old girl as there is a number of un-answered questions running through your head! Previous to my laporoscopy I never had a normal period since the day i took it when i was about 11. I was constantly in pain and it started to affect my everyday life. When simple tasks for me became some of the hardest things to accomplish, days where I could not get out of my bed. All my friends started to ask questions of ‘why?’ I wasnt going out or why i wasnt in school. I missed a lot of my last 2 years of schools which was the most important 2 years for me as i was obviously sitting my GCSE’s but i magined to grin and bare the pain...just about. I ran for over 3 years to doctors and specialists, but no doctor wanted to do anything as i was so young and they didnt want to ruin my chances of ever having a family which i totally understood. But the pain I was in everyday became unbarable, it got to the stage where i was bleeding everyday and no pill was working for me. I finally found a doctor who was willing to go in and have a look, and sure enough i had not only edometriosis but i also had ashesions which was scar tissue that was joining most of my organs toegther! Which probably explained a lot of my pain🤕scary... So i am currently on my 4th day of recovery and for me the worst part of the laporoscopy was the shoulder pain. Im not going to lie it was horrific!! Other than that I am feeling fine and i honestly could say that there is not a thing to be scared about. It is honestly not as bad as you may paint it to he in your head. Its better than suffering the pain x

Hey, hope you’re feeling all better now. How long did it take for you to feel “back to normal”? I’ve got mine coming up and I’m so nervous about the recovery time.
