Hi, I try to manage symptoms by exercise, I’ve just recovered from fractured metatarsal bone in my foot, which was unexplained, save for stress fracture. Is anyone aware of a link between endo and weakening of bones? maybe it’s a side effect of painkillers?
I’m just intrigued as I want to get back running but want to be careful

Are you on any hormonal treatments? GnRH analogues (such as Zolodex) can cause thinning of bones. You can read more about Endometriosis treatments and their side effects here:
I know you posted quite a long time ago but thought I should hop on. I have had endo for years and recently went to see a physio to see if there was any exercise I could try. She said I had hypermobility syndrome but believed it could be a strain called ehlers danlos syndrome and luckily my dr took this seriously and I’m waiting to see a rheumatologist now. Apparently it is common for people who are hyper mobile to have endo. Your muscles and tissues can be so much more flexible and weak that you are susceptible to fractures etc as you muscles cannot support your skeleton as well as it should. I was a dancer and had to stop as had so many problems with my stomach (obviously now know this to be endo) but I was always injured so maybe there could be a link for you too?
Thank you, I will mention it when i have my gynaecologist consult. I got back to running, but have sprained my ankle on the same foot, so sticking to swimming for now. Hope you are responding to physio
