can mefenamic acid unintentionally delay your period?

I've been preloading mefenamic acid as my period was due on Saturday/Sunday, however, it's still not here...but I'm too scared to stop taking it until my period turns up due to the pain!! Can it unintentionally delay your cycle slightly?

Hi

As mefanamic acid is used not just as a pain killer but also used to ease the bleeding it may be that if your period is not particularly heavy that it's causing a lack of flow. I have a light flow for my first 2 days so on mefanamic acid I have no bleeding amd at most i may have some spotting. Its not until my third or 4th day that my period really arrives as thats when my bleeding is at it's heaviest.

No worries there's no such thing as TMI on this site! Some months I dont get any spotting for the first couple of days its only due to my pain levels increasing that I know I've started.

I see what you mean :) no intense cramping yet like I normally get...but then the painkillers may just be working, sigh...x
