Hi I’m new on here, just come across this site and found it interesting. Got a history of ovarian cysts and am now concerned about endometriosis as recognise many of the symptoms.
New here: Hi I’m new on here, just come... - Endometriosis UK
New here
If you think you have endometriosis, go visit your GP. I’m waiting for a lap to get diagnosed as my gynae thinks I have endo and I have a lot of textbook symptoms xx
Have a chat with your gp and say you think it's endometriosis, you may need to push to make a point or see another gp as some won't acknowledge it. Then you'll need a referral to a specialist - make sure it's an endo specialist (in a hospital or clinic) whom will need to perform a laparoscopy as that's the only formal diagnosis.
You can opt for having the diagnostic lap and a removal of endo lap at the same time; this reduces the waiting times between surgeries (waiting with symptoms) and recovery times (from two ops).
Hoping you have a nice doctor that takes you seriously from the beginning - quite a few just say it's normal, and some just push for medicines without actually checking what's wrong.
Hi Escott123,
Welcome to the forum. I don't know if you are aware but Endometriosis UK have some useful information sheets regarding symptoms and diagnosis. You can find them here:

As RoseM6 suggests, it is useful to keep a pain diary to keep track of your symptoms. You can find one here:

Take care and I hope this helps!. Let us know how you get on.
