Minimal adenomyosis &endo...but offered hysterectomy?

I have had a couple of years of really debilitating symptoms; heavy periods with big clots, pelvis pain, severe fatigue etc.

Yesterday i had a laparoscopy and vaginoscopy(?)...it showed a tiny amount of enfo and a thickened uterus. After a scan at christmas i was already diagnised with adenomyosis. But my consultant says that adenomyosis cannot be diagnosed without renoval of the uterus and histology. She said my uterus isnt all that big.

BUT she put me on the wait list for hysterectomy! I have been pushing for this and am mostly pleased. But a little bit confused. She semed to minimise the extent of abnormality

Hey lovely, sorry to hear what you've been going through. I'm 2.5 years post hysterectomy, they also removed my cervix and ovaries. I had minimal endo and wasn't aware of the adeno until they removed the womb and it was then confirmed. I also has endo in the pouch of douglas and surrounding the left ovarian fossa. I still have pelvic pain but we think that's due to pelvic inflammatory disease as I often get fluid build up in the pouch of douglas. Overall the pain is so much less severe. I can't comment on bleeding as I used to be really heavy to the point of fainting and vomiting from the pain but I started having the depo injection quite some years ago and that stopped all that. I'm 33, have 1 child and I'm happy to lend as ear and talk :) x
