I’m at a point were I want to have my merina removed but I’m at a bit of a loss with my decision at the moment. I was first diagnosed with Endo in 2006 which I had excised I was on the pill at that time and was advised after the op to take it back to back for six months at a time , I began to suffer depression so was advised to try 3 months back to back instead as apparently taking the pill like that can cause that sort of problem ...... some time down the line I was experiencing severe anxiety ,migraines and the return of some pelvic pain anyway I was put under considerable pressure to have the merina which I really never ever wanted but I was in such mental distress I thought I’d give in if it might help.
I’ve now had a second lap and second merina , I have also been told I have adenomyosis, pelvic floor tightness and constipation predominant ibs. I have been referred to my pt for trigger point work and pelvic floor relaxation and have been trying to go much more down the natural route which in turn has made me think about the foreign object in my body that is putting unnatural hormones in me and also that i only started getting newer symptoms since having merina . So thanks for staying with me this long my question is if I go ahead and remove the merina what should I do for contraception, Endo prevention and to help with adenomyosis .

I'm with you on this: I don't like the idea of something in me that shouldn't naturally be there producing hormones. I've no idea what to suggest regarding managing endo symptoms; I've had my lap with excision of endo and have had manageable symptoms after - I just need to plan stuff around my cycles. Perhaps other ladies can suggest something here?
Regarding contraception; I use NaturalCycles. It is the only certified contraception app, so it's recognised to work by doctors. It uses basal body temp, period days and ovulation tests to predict your cycle, unique to you, calculates each time you enter data realtime. After a few months it gets to know your cycle so the number of red days decreases. I've found it really useful my partner can also have it on his phone so he can see it too; it also helps him to see when I'm not feeling well in terms of endo (and can plan stuff like meals, days out etc) as it lets you add notes.
Wow that’s great 😊 Thanks for the reply and the info x can I ask how long you’ve been using the app ( I think I’ve come across it whilst trying to research this issue )
I've been using it for about 9 months now, I really like it! It calculated my cycles within four months and even now it's still taking a day off my red days to be more accurate as there's more data I'm entering in. I went from 2 weeks of red days, to 1.5 weeks in 3 months to 7 days now. It helps me really understand the different parts of my cycle and phases with data specific to me rather than the averages you see online. It does cost, however that when you work it out is only minimal, as it provides support and assistance, the basal thermometer, a space in their version of the cloud for your data so your partner can also have the app and view your data, and you can access it from a computer too by logging into their website. I got the ovulation tests on amazon, as it's cheaper.
