I had a laproscopy about 8 years ago which was never to find endometriosis, they went to look for cysts on my ovaries. Nothing was found and that was that. Now at the age of 30 I am on the waiting list for another laproscopy as my symptoms have got worse over the last few years. The consultant I just saw said that it might not be endo because they didn't find anything 8 years ago. However they did find a blood filled cyst in my uterus so my gp was pretty convinced it was endo. Thoughts anyone?

Feeling confused about an old laproscopy
Hi Bobz1987. I had a ruptured cyst on my ovary and the pain was intense. My doc ordered a laroscopy to remove cyst and check for endo. I thought if they found any endo they would remove that too. Turned out they only removed the cyst and the endo remains. My specialist has left it to me to decide if I want to have another laparoscopy to remove the endo but from the research I have done and a second opinion from a fertility consultant, the best thing for me I believe is to not remove the endo as it can then keep regrowing faster and more after
If you have done your research on it and feel that you do have endometriosis I recommend finding a specialist for endo that knows what he or she is doing. I had seen a couple of general gynocologists that over looked it and made me feel like I was crazy for thinking it was endo. However there are other conditions similar to endometriosis, such as poly ovarian cystic syndrome. I have realized that this and other similar conditions are very confusing due to lack of studies and research. There is a lot of uncertainty when it comes to female reproductive issues, I wish I knew enough to tell you for sure. But my best advice is to find someone you trust and go with your gut.
