Hi new to the forum - I’ve had endometriosis for a long time diagnosed finally after ten plus years of visits to gp and gynaecologist. I have had endometriosis pain for as long as I can remember 47 now so a long time.
Now waiting for surgery for endometriosis stage 4 full hysterectomy, bowel / bladder complications and extensive scarring due to long term issues. I see an end in sight but wanted to give my support to all those who are battling with GPs and consultants.
We know our bodies we know when something isn’t right don’t be pushed aside.

I'm pretty new here as well and at 48 years of age, I'm in perimenopause and seems to manage my issues pretty well with knowledge I gained in the countless hours of research.
I'm due for a D&C in middle of May. Ultrasound revealed a thicken uterus plus high CA125 reading.
It's funny that I'm not anxious or worried about it. Maybe because I finally found my true love in a good man and everything looks rosy 😁
Oh, by the way... best wishes to you on the upcoming hysterectomy. I actually would really want that op but doctors at our government funded hospitals here are taking their sweetass time to fix anything if your treatment are subsidized.
My younger sister has huge fibroids and they kept pushing her to take HRT. She refused them repeatedly until one day on a routine examination, she bled out a bucket full of bloody mess right on the examination bed and was quickly put on top priority for hysterectomy. She is now recovering at home.
See... if you're not paying full price or seeing private doctors (who overcharges) you'd be regarded like a little cattle that brings them no revenue. Errghh.
Hi Rupawan, thanks for your reply and sorry to hear that you are unable to get an hysterectomy to help with the endometriosis. My sister also had the operation at the beginning of the year and is now free of pain. I hope your sister recovers soon. Keep trying I have had similar issues in the UK it seems to be a post code lottery here. Good luck and I hope you get the treatment you need
Hi I am also waiting for a total laparoscopic hysterectomy/ovary removal and excision due to adenomyosis/stage 4 endo and family cancer history. Unfortunately the winter issues with hospital beds and the complex surgery mean long wait times in this area. My GP has had to write to hospital to get it moved along. Go to a BSGE centre if you can! If you are in constant pain you could also ask to see a pain specialist.
Hi 123happym, thanks for your reply I have just checked and I am under a BSGE centre but I will enquiry about the pain specialist. Thank you for the advice.
Great re BSGE centre, I let my GP and consultant decide re local hospital and now in position where probably will ask for private 2nd opinion at BSGE centre. Lived and learnt!!
Hi I have been told seven to eight months wait for my operation, not sure if your waiting time is similar. There is only one surgeon who deals with complicated surgery in our BSGE centre. I am on the cancellation list so hoping it may be quicker.
