Hi Kate

Not sure this advice will help but I’d see the catheter as a positive thing because I found it so difficult to pee after my last endo surgery and was begging to be catheterised at 12 hrs post op. The nurses on the ward tried but they popped it in the wrong hole! Idiots. My consultant was laughing because he saw where they’d popped the catheter on the bladder scan post catheterisation. Funny for him, but not for someone who desperately needed to empty their bladder! Anyhoo, what I’m trying to say, is that the catheter will really help you pass urine after the op. Much better to have it put in whilst in theatre than afterwards.

Have they said how long you need it post op?

Sending lots of love to calm your nerves xxx

Thinking of you hun. I've just had my 5th lap and like you have deep infiltrating endo on my bladder (Oh the joys!!). If you can concentrate on the benefits of the op which will hopefully bring you loads of relief. The best thing about general anaesthetic makes you blissfully unaware of everything going on. It may sound weird but I now look forward to my laps as much as I look forward to a holiday which people I know who don't have endo (lucky b*ggers) think is very odd. Wishing you all the best 😊 x
