Hi All.
I am suppose to get Day 21 blood test on Sunday, my doctor told me to go Monday; but the blood testing part at my hospital is closed so now my only option is Tuesday, but is that ok? It won’t show up If ive ovulated will it?
Thank you x
Hi All.

Hi you’ll probably be fine on Tuesday. Progesterone steadily rises after ovulation and usually at its highest level/peak 7 days after ovulation so I would suspect a couple of days later the levels should still give a good indication of progesterone to show the doctor whether you ovulated or not. Also, just to bear in mind, they call it a day21 test but remember not everyone ovulates on Day 14. The test ideally should be done 7 days after ovulation whenever that falls, I ovulate on Day 9-10 usually so my “day 21” progesterone should really be done onDay 16/17 and not 21. I had to educate my useless GP on that one who was intent on measuring progesterone levels at a much later date than they should have been taken and quite possibly not getting the proper picture from the results. So if you are tracking ovulation and have a good idea on when you ovulated add 7 days and you may find you’re even spot on having your test on Tuesday! I wouldn’t worry though your progesterone even if taken a couple of days late should still give enough evidence of ovulation as it shouldn’t have quite started its decline then, if in any doubt just get the test repeated next month to check. Best of luck and hope that helps x x
